The 1889 census can be divided into a occupation and a population census.

The publication of the 1889 occupation census consists of 13 sections.

  • Section 1 includes an introduction with among other things an overview of the results and an alphabetical list of occupations.
  • Section 2 includes the results of the census of 31st December 1889.
  • Section 3 to 13 include the results by province.
Table 1: occupations (35 classes) in alphabetical order, occupational position, age, civil status
Table 2: municipalities with a population > 100,000 inhabitants
Table 3: municipalities with a population of 20,000 - 100,000 inhabitants
Table 4: municipalities with a population of 5000 - 20,000 inhabitants
Table 5: municipalities with a population < 5000 inhabitants
Table 6: heads of the families and persons without a job
Table 7: 'krachtswerktuigen'
